To find your polling location, visit the recently launched "Destination Southfield", a collection of Geographic Information System (GIS) sites that provide up-to-date interactive maps and information about city services and polling locations. The Election Polling Places application helps citizens locate their polling place and obtain information about current elected officials.
To locate a polling place, simply click on the map or enter an address in the search box. The polling place and respective voting precinct will then be highlighted, and relevant information about the polling place will be presented at the bottom of the application.

Precinct Location Change
Attention voters assigned to Precincts 22 and 43. City Council approved a change of location for Precincts 22 and 43, formerly located at the VFW Hall, 24222 Nine Mile Road. Your new precinct location will be at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Hall, located at 23455 W. Nine Mile Road, east of Telegraph Road.
Military and Overseas Voters
New state and federal laws make it easier for military and overseas civilian voters to register and participate in elections. If you or someone you know is a member of the military or a U.S. citizen overseas,

No Campaigning at the Polls
Pursuant to Michigan Election Law, all campaigning on Election Day must be at least 100 feet from any doorway used by voters to enter the polling place. Campaign buttons, hats, clothing with candidate names or campaign slogans, must be covered or removed when entering the polling place.
New Photo ID Requirement to Vote:
Due to a recent court ruling, all Michigan voters must show current photo identification before voting at the polls. Voters can satisfy the picture identification requirement by showing a current Michigan driver's license or personal identification card. A voter who is unable to show picture identification can vote after signing an affidavit attesting that he or she is not in possession of picture identification.
Voter Assist Terminals
All Southfield voters and members of the disability community are encouraged to utilize the AutoMark Voter Assist Terminal. First introduced to Southfield voters in 2006, the AutoMark provides access and on-site participation to all voters in Southfield. Voters who are physically disabled, visually impaired or otherwise unable to mark a ballot in the usual way can utilize the AutoMark device to vote independently. The screen magnification and contrast features make it a useful tool for all voters to use. The AutoMark units were paid for with Federal dollars under the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), and are compatible with the M-100 optical scan voting machines.
Election Inspectors Needed
The City Clerk’s Office is seeking applicants to work as Election Inspectors for all elections held in the City of Southfield. Michigan law allows students age 16 years or older to work at the polls.
Applications from workers of all eligible ages are welcome. You must be a registered voter in Oakland County. Compensation for Election Inspectors is $140 for the full day (6 a.m. until polls close and election results are reported); Chairpersons receive $180 for the day.
