Uniformed Group

Safe and Secure

The City of Southfield Uniformed Group is comprised of the Police Chief, Fire Chief and Emergency Dispatch, as well as their professional support staff. The Uniformed Group is committed to the best possible service, protection and prevention by providing ongoing training for personnel and keeping current with the needs of the community. As a result, Southfield's Uniformed Group response system is one of the best in Michigan.

The Uniformed Group recognizes partnerships with the community are key to its success. Residents have the opportunity to assist in keeping their community safe and secure through Mobile Watch, Neighborhood Watch and community policing Projects. Emergency Management volunteers provide a variety of services during weather-related and other hazardous conditions; and by assisting with parking enforcement during community events.

The Group offers forms for businesses (pdf) and Special Needs (pdf). It is important to make the Police and Fire Departments aware of any special needs you may have, in the event of an emergency. Examples of special needs may include children or elderly in the household, handicapped needs, or pets. Keep your family and belongings safe by completing the applicable form and returning it to the City of Southfield Uniformed Group at 26000 Evergreen Road, P.O. Box 2055, Southfield, MI. 48037-2055.

For more information, call (248) 796-5500.

The City of Southfield also has helped create an online educational game to teach youth how to use 9-1-1 in case of emergency.
