The Planning Department mailed out over 36,000 surveys to Southfield households for their input into the development of our upcoming Comprehensive Master Plan.
In 2007, the Planning Department completed over 250 commercial and residential site inspections.
Planning Department and Business Development staff members boast a combined total of 100 years of Planning, Landscaping, and Community Development experience.
In March 2006, the City of Southfield was certified as one of the first
Redevelopment Ready
communities at a ceremony officiated by Governor Jennifer Granholm. Also in 2006, Planning staff processed 25 site plans approved by Planning Commission and City Council, 45 administratively reviewed site plans, and over 200 tree permits.
