Strategic Plan
In the fall of 2007, the Board of Directors of the Cornerstone Development Authority launched a strategic planning process with the assistance of the professional planning firm of McKenna Associates. The process involved the participation and cooperation of community leaders, business people, residents and members of the CDA Board of Directors.
This process resulted in the adoption of the Strategic Plan 2008-1013; Building a Vision for Tomorrow in April of 2008. The Strategic Plan builds on the successes of the CDA over the years, and reaffirms the Mission Statement which serves as the overall vision of the Board for the entire Cornerstone District. The concept Master Plan identifies five key recommendations including 1) Connections – the creation of clear, attractive and well functioning connections throughout the district; 2) District Character – Enhancement of the overall character of the District as a vibrant, mixed use place with entertainment, destination retail, office space and support services; 3) Infrastructure and Aesthetics – Continue to support and implement streetscape, landscaping , lighting, parking, infrastructure and aesthetic improvements to assure that the District is an attractive, welcoming, distinctive and comfortable place; 4) Development and Redevelopment – Facilitate development, redevelopment and reinvestment in the District’s properties; 5) Economic Health and Vitality – Support and enhance the District’s economic health and vitality through a targeted strategy of business and economic development programs and incentives for recruitment, retention, development and redevelopment.
Each of these areas of emphasis has activity areas defined and specific goals and objectives spanning the five year span identified in the Plan.
