Business Licenses are mandated by Southfield City Ordinance. Only a select number of businesses are required to obtain a license. The Southfield City Clerk’s Office oversees this government function. You will need a new Business License if you are: starting a new business, the new owner of an existing business, opening an additional location for your current business or moving your business to a new location.

The City of Southfield is instituting a new business registration program. This voluntary program will allow us to create and maintain a database of pertinent information about our business community.
