Business Development Team is responsible for attracting and maintaining businesses that enhance economic growth and opportunity. The department is charged with facilitating the efficient delivery of economic development services to and for Southfield-based companies, maintaining an ongoing and extensive dialog with the business community to ensure the maximum success in offering its business services.
Business Development administers proactive business retention and expansion program designed to support businesses in the City of Southfield by
coordinating the delivery of local, state and federal assistance and incentive programs (pdf). This includes offering site selection services, financing programs, workforce training, and other incentives. Staff works with businesses to build productive dialog, establish strong relationships, and uncover and address important issues.
